Byron Bay Golf Day
It was a big day for the KBRE team yesterday at our annual Byron Bay Ladies Golf High Tea day. We played a 4 Player Florida Scramble, and lots of fun was had by all. There were prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, a wild card, trivia, plus 3 Nearest to the Pins.
There was a Wild Card Hole, where the captain of each team drew a staff member who would hit their tee shot and give certain bonus points and sometimes hilarious shots!
Congratulations to the overall winning team: Sally Symons, Kay Williamson, Jo Mortimer and Sue Charles.
Once the fun on the course was finished (yay for no rain!), everyone enjoyed the High Tea, supplied by the High Tea Ladies.
We raised funds for an organisation chosen on the day. This year, it was The S.H.I.F.T. Project’s Linen Shift, providing laundry & ironing services to women experiencing difficulties. In the 9 months they have been operating, the team has grown to 11 employees & has provided 2,900 hours of paid employment. Between March 2020 to January 2022, the Linen SHIFT has operated for about 44,000 hours and completed approximately 8,500 loads of washing.
The ladies collectively raised $247.55, which Katrina Beohm Real Estate doubled and donated $500. More information on this great initiative can be found at www.shiftproject.org.au.
When Katrina advised The Shift Project earlier today, co-founder Julie Wells commented:
‘Oh what a fantastic email to get out of the blue!!!
Thank you so much…..we are very touched that SHIFT is living in the hearts of our community.’
Thanks to the Byron Bay Lady Golfers for a wonderful day and for donating to a great cause. A special thank you to Marjorie Askew and Sue Charles for helping to make this day a great success. Also, to our team and especially Chris Plim for all of the extra effort he put in.
