International Women's Day hosted by Ballina Chamber
Fantastic lunch at the Ballina RSL Club Ltd hosted by the Ballina Chamber for a delayed International Women’s Day.
A great panel of speakers, including Jodie Cooper (international pro surfer), Madeline West (actor & so much more), Kirra Pendergast (doing amazing things about education around online safety & security), and MC’d by Liz Cantor (another pro surfer turned International Surf Judge, power ball presenter & again, so much more).
The focus on today was #breakthebias, allowing women to step into their own space and be everything they can be.
Some beautiful points that were made include the following;
* What other people think of me is none of my business - Madeline West
* Say yes to respectful relationships- Rotary Ballina
* Curate your social feeds to be uplifting & aim for one screen-free day per week - Kirra Pendergast
* Offer options to help others overcome the fear of change - Liz Cantor
So much fun was had by all, and the room was full of amazing women and supportive men too! Thank you to all the sponsors for today…it may have been delayed, but it was well worth the wait!
Thank you to the sponsors and raffle prize donators - sorry if I didn’t get you all!!
